MEET THE BAND

Hope's Creed is a family with many members, past and present! In October of 2025 we welcomed Faith and Dwight as our new singer and electric guitarist, respectively. Then, in early 2026, we welcomed Josh, our new acoustic guitarist, and Glory, our other new singer! We're excited for the future!

JESSIE JANS
I've been told I came out of the womb hollering and singing and always gravitated towards all things music. As a Pastors kid I had the privilege to develop my faith in a very safe and fun atmosphere. Music has been the main tool that the Lord has used to break through to my soul and draw me near to Him all throughout my life.
It is because of ministry that my family came to Canada to serve in a Baptist church in Calgary.
Being part of this band is such a blessing for me and has been another beautiful way to express my gratitude, love and praise for my God and share hope with others!

Singer
FAITH STEWART
I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember—even as a child it just sort of bubbled out of me. Some of my earliest memories are of singing and teaching myself to whistle while feeding my pony, Lucky, with my trusty dogs by my side.
Music has always been more than just notes to me; it’s about storytelling and the emotional connection that draws both my mind and my soul in. I’ve been so blessed to sing with multiple bands at church, as singing to my Jesus is a great joy in my life.
I am so excited to be a part of Hope’s Creed—not only is it an opportunity to grow musically, but it is wonderful to be with a team who truly desire to share faith and hope with others. I’m so grateful to create music alongside such talented bandmates.
Outside of the band, I teach piano and voice and work in policy within the agriculture sector. I’m an Alberta country girl at heart, most at home under open skies, surrounded by God’s splendour. So much of my musical inspiration comes from time spent in nature—especially that spent around horses and in the quiet of the mountains.

Don't remember when I started to sing, I just always did. I fell in love with it, and the feeling I would feel every time I sang was unexplainable. I know God put that there. I was never professionally taught; I didn't know how to go about that, so I taught myself. I practiced for hours every day.

I'm so grateful God blessed me with such passion for music. And because everything I have comes from God, I want to use it all for Him. And that's what I've been doing.

I'm so blessed to continue my journey with Hope's Creed. I know God has big plans for us, to use us in ways we cannot imagine. I am very excited for the opportunity to grow musically and personally with the band, and in my walk with God. All glory to Him.

Guitarist
DWIGHT HUDSON
My favourite things in life are Jesus, my wife, my children, running my business, and playing music for people, which I've been doing off and on, (mostly consistently) for the better part of 35 years. There's something truly communal and special about the shared experience of live music, and when it's coupled with a true devotion to Christ, it becomes timeless and magical. Playing for Him is one of the most cathartic experiences I've ever known; a time for deep worship, repentance, and to hear from God.
I'm grateful to have the opportunity to do one of my favourite things with Hope's Creed as a guitar player, and pray that it can be as much of a blessing to others as it is to me.

I think I was born with rhythm in my bones - apparently I was banging on pots and pans before I could talk (ask Jayne, she's my Mom!). Drumming to me isn't just about music, it's where I feel I can worship best and most wholeheartedly. Being a part of Hope's Creed, where I have my abilities challenged by these other wonderful, hardworking and talented musicians, is a huge blessing!
My life partner, Ana, with whom my I run our family business, doubles as HC's hype team, merch master and fashion coach. Outside of work and music I love hiking, snow-boarding, singing, good food and exploring the world. I look forward to meeting you at our next gig!

Bass
Jonathan Thomson
Music always had a strong presence in my family growing up, whether it was my dad practicing or teaching bagpipes, playing guitar for living room sing-alongs or church, or two sisters playing piano. In junior high there was a need for another bass player in the small church in which dad served as a pastor. This was the start of my journey into the world of bass.
From there I regularly played bass or guitar in youth group bands and church worship teams until I went to college. God also led me to the love of my life, Kim, and we now have three girls, our precious gifts; Lara, Rayleigh and Beatrice. I love to make music and I love to sing to my Saviour with whatever instrument I have.

Acoustic and Electric Guitar
Josh Friesen
Having played guitar from a young age, music has been a constant throughout my life. That passion found its home in the church, where I have spent many years serving on worship teams in a variety of roles and continue to serve in worship ministry today.

Along the way, I've had opportunities to record albums, tour across Canada, and play in a wide range of settings—from churches and conferences to smaller, more personal gatherings. I enjoy writing and recording music and have had the opportunity to be part of several creative projects over the years.

My love for the guitar has also expanded into building guitars and amplifiers, allowing me to explore the creative and technical sides of music. I'm grateful for where this journey has taken me and hope the music we share through Hope's Creed inspires, encourages, and helps people connect with their faith journey.

My musical background is in classical piano, however I spend as much time as I can composing! It is my true passion. My other, and older passion, is my family; I am blessed with two sons who are already grown up, a beautiful daughter-in-law, and a wonderfully supportive husband, with whom I have had an amazing life.

I began writing songs nearly 30 years ago, following a totally unexpected word from the Lord at a youth event. My faith told me that if this was truly God’s will for my life, He would make me able. Founding, then working with Hope's Creed has been one of the greatest honours of my life. It is so good to speak, sing and play about faith in God together.

I'm very excited about the future - the band has changed over the years but God has always provided the right people at the right time. It's invigorating to be able to bless ministries such as Teen Challenge, International Justice Ministries, Centre for the City, and many others.
Our Legacy Team Players.
Over the years, Hope's Creed has been blessed by the talent of many members! Each one of them helped craft Hope's Creed into what it is today.
